Intro

PHIL KARL

I am a Designer. An Industrial Designer to be more specific. The word “DESIGN” has become overused and worn-out in recent years. These days, everyone seems to be a designer and this six letter word is used way too often as an eye-catching bullet point for marketing purposes.

Design in many ways is about process and discovery. It is not a quick fix or rash decision. The way a product develops from the first sketch to the final object is always interesting and sometimes beautifully surprising. This process needs to be loose, almost reckless in concept, while being reserved and responsible in execution. It moves in ebbs and flows. This is exciting to me.

I believe design is important.

It should not be diluted.
